Moon Gate Mages · Last updated 6 November 2026

In short: Moon Gate Mages has no accounts and never asks for your name, email or location. It sends anonymous records of how battles went, how smoothly the game ran and how far players get, so we can balance and fix it. Your save stays on your phone. This version shows no ads and sells nothing. If you use Google Play Games, your best floor in The Climb appears on its leaderboard under your Play Games name. The only email we keep is one you type into the launch list on our website, to tell you when the game is out.

Who we are

Moon Gate Mages is made by One Man Game Studio, one developer in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the data described here. Contact: [email protected].

What the game collects

The game does not collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos or files.

Network data

The game and its art are downloaded from Google Play. The records are sent to a small service we run on Cloudflare (stats.onemangamestudio.dev). Like any internet connection, this shows Cloudflare your IP address; it is used only to deliver the record and to block abuse (too many requests from one address). Our service never stores your IP address, with the records or anywhere else.

Google Play Games

The Climb has a world leaderboard run by Google Play Games. If you are signed in to Play Games on your phone, the game sends your best floor to that leaderboard, and the game and Google show it to other players next to your Play Games name and picture. The game reads the leaderboard to show your rank and the players near you. This is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy; we do not receive or store your Play Games name or ID, and they are never added to the records above. You can play without Play Games: sign out of it, or turn off its automatic sign-in, in the Google Play Games settings.

The launch list (our website)

If you give us your email on onemangamestudio.dev/moongate, we keep it with the date, the country Cloudflare guesses from your connection (two letters, such as GB; not your IP address) and the link you came from (for example a post's ?ref= tag). We use it only to send you Moon Gate Mages' launch news: when you can pre-register on Google Play and when the game is out, in your country. No newsletter, no other games, and we never share or sell it. Our legal basis is your consent, given by signing up. To leave the list, use the link in any email we send or email us, and we delete your address.

Why we use it

To balance the levels, find bugs and crashes, make the game run well on more phones, and see where players stop playing so we can improve those parts. Our legal basis under the UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in improving the game. The records cannot identify you.

Ads and purchases

This version of Moon Gate Mages shows no ads, contains no advertising code and has no in-app purchases. If a later version adds optional rewarded ads (through Google AdMob) or purchases (through Google Play), we will update this page before it is released, and where the law requires it the game will ask for your consent first.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent any data. It is shared only with the companies that run the service for us: Cloudflare (receives the records and hosts this website), Google (delivers the game and its art through Google Play, and runs the Play Games leaderboard) and our server host. We may disclose data if the law requires it. See Cloudflare's and Google's privacy policies. Cloudflare also stores the launch list, and when we send the launch emails, the email service we use receives the addresses only to deliver them.

Where it is stored

The records arrive in a Cloudflare database kept in the European Union. From there we move them, normally within a day, to our own server in the European Union, and delete them from Cloudflare. The launch list stays in its own Cloudflare database in the European Union.

How long we keep it

Children

Moon Gate Mages is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Deleting your Moon Gate Mages data

To ask One Man Game Studio to delete the data Moon Gate Mages has sent about you:

  1. Open the game's Settings (the gear) and tap Copy next to your Player ID.
  2. Email it to [email protected] with the subject "Delete my Moon Gate Mages data". The Player ID is the only thing that links the records to you: we have no name, account or email for them, so we cannot find your data without it.
  3. We delete every record carrying that ID within 30 days and reply when it is done.

Deleted: your battle records, play sessions and device details, with the Player ID and install source they carry. Kept: only totals that carry no ID (such as how many players finished level 5). Without a request, records are deleted after 2 years at most.

Before you uninstall: copy your Player ID first if you may want your data deleted later. Clearing the game's data or uninstalling it deletes your save and the Player ID on your phone, and uninstalling stops all records. Google Play Games: your leaderboard score and Play Games name are kept by Google; delete them in the Google Play Games settings. The launch list: use the link in any email we send, or email us from the address you signed up with.

Under the UK GDPR you can also ask to see or correct data about you, or object to its use, at the same address, and complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
